Head shave is a grand effort by teacher Katie

By Kevin Black in Community News

When it comes to charity head shaves, Lingfield Primary School teacher Katie Handscomb is in a class of her own after raising over £1,000 for St Catherines Hospice.

Assisted by some scissor wielding pupils and fellow teachers Sarah watson and Andrew Winter, Katie sat in front of all the students and staff to bravely have her head shaved.

Katie, who has set up a JustGiving page to collect sponsorship said: “St Catherine’s has offered support to families in the most difficult of times; the commitment and care shown by their staff is inspiring. I have wanted to do something for charity for a while now and I have decided that shaving my head would be something I could do to try and make a difference.”
