Bromley firm sponsors police car
Tuesday, 24 July 2012
FORESTERS, the financial services organisation based in Cromwell Avenue, Bromley, has agreed to sponsor the Bromley Town Safer Neighbourhood Team’s vehicle for a three-year period.
The team will use the car to carry out crime prevention visits and to attend special events and appointments on the ward, but it will not be used for routine patrols, which the team will continue to carry out on foot or on bicycle.
Steve Dilworth, Foresters UK membership director, pictured, said: “Everyone is struggling with tight budgets and the Met needs the support of businesses and individuals to ensure effective policing in the community.
“Our SNT under Sergeant Weston has done a great job and made a real difference in the heart of Bromley so I'm really pleased that we have had the opportunity to make their resources stretch a little further.”
Sergeant Amanda Weston, head of the Bromley Town Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The car will make a huge difference to the team and residents of the ward, assisting in promoting police visibility and dealing with the needs of our community.”
